Lee Mears, Featured Artist for May
LEE MEARS, Bradenton mixed-media artist, has been named the Featured Artist for May at Island Gallery West. A member of the Island Gallery West co-op for almost 20 years, Ms. Mears is well known in the Manatee County art community. The theme of Ms. Mear's display will be "Water Worlds" featuring scenes of water on earth, beaches, streams, falls and woodlands.

Barbara Hines, Featured Artist for June
Island Gallery West will host a public reception for Barbara on Fri., June 11th
From 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The public is invited to meet the artist, enjoy fine art and complimentary refreshments at the gallery.
Barbara Hines lives and paints on Anna Maria Island. She is well known for her whimsical multi-media paintings depicting two of her greatest loves, Anna Maria Island and our environment. PAC | Summer Camp 2010 | Back to Basics | June, July & August
This summer we will focus on going back to basics and learn life long skills to keep
in our back pockets as we grow. Camps include sewing on the machine, cooking, clay camp,
and painting. Come chill out from 2-4PM in PAC's cool and welcoming home-away-from-home.
All camps are $75 for the week. All materials are included. Additional family members will be discounted.

We would like to teach our young PAC friends how to sew this summer.

Art Walk Reception, Sara Gafvert

Sara Gafvert was bom in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Studied Art at Ohio University and Wright State University. She has been participating in juried fine craft shows throughout Ohio, Delaware, and Florida for over 20 years. She now sells her art at her store on Anna Maria Island, "The Color of Coconut". Sara calls her style" American Batik" since she has adapted her own methods of applying wax and dyes with the knowledge and training of traditional Javanese Batik methods. Using vibrant colors to dipict nature and all its wonder, Sara has captured the eye of the beholder! Come enjoy her work at her first opening: Friday June 4th. 2010.
