Preview Reception for Finders Keepers: Collectors and Collections
What do people collect and why? See selected private collections from area collectors and find out the answer. Families are welcome and children will have the opportunity to start (or add to) stamp, coin and sports card collections of their own as they learn about organizing and preserving collections. Members of the Museum Friends are free. Guests and nonmembers are welcome with a suggested $10 at the door. Light refreshments will be served. Night at the Museum- Love is in the Air
Join us for a romantic family classic in the Planetarium at 4:15, followed by fun activities for the whole family. Enjoy planetarium shows all evening: Live Star Talk at 7:00, Ultimate Universe at 7:30, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at 8:15. Manatee presentations in the aquarium at 5:00 and 6:30. Admission is half price after 4pm. Members are always free. Food is available for a nominal price.

So far, Earth is the only planet known to harbor life. The solid, liquid, gaseous and living components of our planet work together to create stable environments, creating the long-term conditions necessary for the evolution of life. Join Jeff Rodgers, Director of the Bishop Planetarium in an exploration of the dynamic relationship between life and the planet we call home. $5, members free. Did you ever wonder…? Join the South Florida Museum in Science Cafés at The Cellar Lounge. This monthly event will bring local scientists, science enthusiasts and the science-curious together for casual, fun and enlightening conversations about topics that you just don’t get to discuss every day. This time we are exploring The Medicinal Uses of Maggots and Leeches with expert biologist Sandra Gilchrest. Each third Wednesday will present a different topic of scientific interest for discussion. Drink specials, affordable food, and prize drawings. See? Exercising your brain cells can be fun! The Cellar is located at 4307 26th Street West (just north of Cortez Avenue) in Bradenton.
