2009 SEASON VILLAGE BOOKSHOP EVENTS:
ON-GOING -- The Village Bookshop Poets & Writers Group meets every Thursday at 7 p.m., except the Thursday before the first Friday.
OPEN MIC –- All acoustic musicians, comics, poets, story-tellers welcome. Begins at 8 p.m. every first Friday. Open Mics on February 6, March 6, and April 3rd, and the Annual Village of the Arts Poetry Slam will be held on April 3rd.
BOOK SIGNINGS –
January 24 – TVB will close between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in order to attend Palmetto Library’s event featuring author Marcella Hazan. We will sell copies of Marcella’s new book Amarcord, and some of her bestselling cookbooks. Back in the shop at 1 p.m.
February 6: Paul H. Carr, Ph.D., will sign his Beauty in Science & Spirit, from 6 p. to 9 p.
February 7: John Nall will sign copies of his Perpetual Revolt: Essays on Peace & Justice and The Shared Values of Secular, Spiritual, and Religious Progressives. 11 – 2 p.m.
March 6: Mary Catherine Coolidge will sign her Sideways in Sarasota: Collected Columns from M. C. Coolidge, aka Reality Chick, beginning at 6 p.m.
March 7: Ruth Fishell will sign copies of her new book, Peace in Our Hearts; Peace in the World. 11 – 2 p.m.
