THE ARTS COUNCIL OF MANATEE COUNTY WON THE "PARTNER IN EXCELLENCE AWARD" TODAY AT THE CHAMBER BREAKFAST; 18TH ANNUAL BUSINESS/EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIP AWARDS BREAKFAST.

THE PARTNER IN EXCELLANCE AWARD IS GIVEN TO THE PARTNER THAT HAS TYPIFIED THE MISSION OF THE MANATEE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM THROUGH ACTIVE AND EXEMPLARY ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE VARIOUS "LEVELS" OF PARTICIPATION. THE RECIPIENT OF THE AWARD WAS SELECTED BY THE JUDGAES FROM ALL THE CATAGORIES OF AWARDS GIVEN. tHERE WERE OVER 450 NOMINATIONS.

New exhibits at ArtCenter Manatee reflect ArtCenter's
participation in a celebration of Fiber Art, called
Convergence 2008. Galleries across Central Florida
will be participating in the month of June.

At ArtCenter Manatee will present the juried fiber
guild, Designing Weavers, called "Sideshow,"
because of its circus theme. "Sideshow" will be in
the Searle and Reid-Hodges galleries.

In the Kellogg Gallery will be the fiber presentation
called "Tri-Axial Trix" by Sally Shore.

The shows runs from June 12 through July 5,
with a reception on June 27, from 4-9 pm.
