MCC Graphic Design Students
Display Portfolios

Students in Manatee Community College’s
(MCC) Graphic Design Technology Program
will display their work in a Portfolio Open House
from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, in room
202 of the Art and Design Building, building 10,
at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

The annual Open House is the culmination
of the MCC program. Students design logos,
write resumes and polish their work in
preparation for professional interviews.

Sarasota Ballet continue a season of firsts
with a program including Tony Award
winning choreographer Matthew Bourne’s
The Infernal Galop from 1989 and a
world premiere of Wolfgang for Webb by
Dominic Walsh. Also on the program is a
reprise performance of George Balanchine’s
Allegro Brillante with five performances
starting on Friday, April 25 at 8 pm and
continuing Saturday and Sunday,
April 27, 2008 at 2 pm & 8 pm at the

FST Opens Outlaws and Angels Next Week!

Country Music Hits Begins March 25th

(Sarasota, Florida) - The roots of western music are alive and well in the final production of the 2007-2008 Winter Cabaret Season! The Florida Studio Produced Outlaws & Angels, developed by Richard Hopkins, Rebecca Langford and Cristin Kelly, is a rousing celebration of songs by the rugged Outlaws of western music and the Angels who put up with them. Featuring favorites that were at the center of the Outlaw movement, 'I Walk the Line," "Bargain Store," "On the Road Again," "Desperado" and many more!

Village of the Arts to Honor HS Students

The Village of the Arts will honor Manatee School District’s high school art students (both public and private) on Friday April 11th at 6pm for the 6th annual awards reception for the Emerging Artists Competition. Cash awards, three summer scholarships to Ringling School of Art and numerous prizes, donated by Keeton's Art Supply, will be awarded in three categories: 2-Dimensional, 3-Dimensional, and Photography/digital. All submitted student art will be on display at participating Village galleries from April 11th through 26th.
