Margaret Mead Film Festival - March 2008

The South Florida Museum is honored to bring the American Museum of Natural History’s Margaret Mead Traveling Film and Video Festival to Bradenton. The annual Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival is the longest-running, premiere showcase for international non-fiction media in the United States.

The Festival features a broad spectrum of cultural documentary, both in form and subject matter. The five week program line-up is as follows:On Reincarnation, Tuesday, March 4th, 6:30 pm, Film: The Thread of KarmaLucha Libre Activista, Tuesday, March 11th, 6:30, Film: Super AmigosConfronting Terrorism, Tuesday, March 18th, 6:30, Film: Promised ParadiseRethinking Gender in Iran, Tuesday, March 25th, 6:30, Film: The BirthdayThe Politics of Water, Tuesday, April 1st, 6:30, Films: Village of Dust, City of Water and The Water Front and Gimme GreenSelect screenings will be followed by a facilitated discussion. The South Florida Museum is the largest natural and cultural history museum on Florida’s west coast and is one of the oldest operating museums in the State of Florida.
