What has kept us so busy?
The Arts Council of Manatee County spent 10 months on every facet of a community wide survey. It is called the Cultural Face of Manatee and can be sent electronically to any interested party by emailing your request to manateeartscouncil@juno.com.
The first 3-day, 3-venue Manatee Arts Extravaganza was held Nov. 9, 10 and 11. The event featured a kick off party on Nov. 9th and an artist's tent village on the Harbor Nov. 10th and 11th. The most popular aspect of the long arts weekend were the performing arts in tne Manatee Players Theater and outside on the City Stage. Sunday, Nov. 11th also featured a Photofest at the Convention Center with Trolley transportation between parking and all venues. The Extravaganza was a success and will be back next year. Dates and times may change and we are open to any suggestions so please write us.
The Village of the Arts Lights up Nov. 16 with a special Art Walk from 6pm-9:30 pm.
The multitude of events in Manatee County, not just arts events, are overwhelming. So for now, check the cultural calendar at the Chamber of Commerce site and look for our cultural calendar in early 2008.
